60 Thoughts For My Granddaughter

I have been thinking about writing a new book in honor my granddaughter who will be born this May.  The title I am kicking around is called “60 Thoughts For My Granddaughter”

I am not sure where to take it or exactly what to say quite yet, but I know I want to leave some life lessons for her.  I also want to introduce some humor I think for things that new grandpas have to learn along the way, maybe some things they have forgotten and need to relearn.  I am not quite sure yet, but I have been doing some thinking along those lines.

What do you think?  If you have any ideas or thoughts about what I can include, let me know as I just started to try to build this in my mind now.  I welcome any and all suggestions!

What a great idea, Tony! I have done a similar thing. I have a letter in our safety deposit box to give them at a certain stage in their lives, and I want to do anther one for after I am gone. There is so much to say to them. Their world will be vastly different than ours has been. It will be harder for them to slow down and resist peer pressure too. 🙂

All you need to do, Tony, is use your wisdom as a father. Anything you say will be important to your granddaughter. She will know you love her by your words. Blessings & hugs! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Since you have time, it will come. You’d be surprised at your store house of knowledge.Consider the changes you’ve seen in your life that have been disturbing, some good, some bad and how many more there will be when she comes of age. Maintaining perspective and not letting others affect our judgement but listening to her heart will be of utmost importance. It’s too easy to become influenced by changes and people around us. How can we guard our hearts and still remain caring, loving individuals? What a challenge. Sharing your love and hopes for her would be a good start.
