So here is the answer to the question
WHY ARE SANITARY AND STORM SEWER MANHOLES ROUND?
ANSWER – Because round is the only standard shape that will not fall in on itself. A square shape, or rectangle, or typical triangle, can be turned so that it will fall into the hole. A round sewer cover will not! They are also easier to make.

Have you ever stopped to wonder why certain things are the way they are in the world we live in?Like manhole covers for instance. Do you know why manhole covers are round?
If you are a Civil Engineer then you already know the answer to this question but if you don’t know, let me know what you think without googling, or binging, or yahooing it and I will follow-up with the answer in a post.
